Their daughter, Princess Gabriella, received a major honour

Princess Charlene and her husband, Prince Albert, have reunited at a public engagement after a royal tour caused a brief separation between the two.

Their daughter, Princess Gabriella, received the symbolic keys to the city of Vic-sur-Cère from Mayor Annie Delrieu during a dedication event on Wednesday.

The honour marked a significant moment for the 10-year-old royal as she officially opened the public space named in her honour.

Charlene, Gabriella, Prince Albert and Princess Gabriella's twin brother, Prince Jacques, attended the special ceremony where the young princess inaugurated a town square bearing her name.

The mother and daughter duo turned heads in Vic-sur-Cère, stepping out in remarkably similar outfits that had observers doing double-takes.

The 47-year-old Charlene chose a tiered pleated dress featuring a striking pattern across the shoulders and hemline. The flowing design, which extended over her upper arms, was complemented by black pointed-toe flats.

Princess Gabriella mirrored her mother's style in a printed sundress with a pleated skirt. She completed her look with sandals and sunglasses for protection from the sun.

Their coordinated appearance highlighted the growing fashion connection between the Monagasque mother and daughter.

The ceremony in Vic-sur-Cère represented one of several recent public engagements where the mother-daughter duo have showcased their coordinated fashion choices whilst carrying out official duties.

Princess Charlene's outing comes after she pulled out of a planned royal visit to Japan with her husband, Prince Albert, last month.

The royal couple’s twins were also scheduled to attend, but they were pulled from the trip.

The Palace said in a statement on June 25 that the princess and her children would not be participating in the trip “in light of current events taking place in the Middle East.” No further details were given on how the visit to Japan was impacted by the Middle East.

Before the Vic-sur-Cère event, Princess Charlene and her daughter displayed their style synchronicity during President Emmanuel Macron's state visit to Monaco.

At the welcoming ceremony held at the Prince's Palace, Princess Gabriella appeared in an elegant white dress paired with Mary-Jane pumps.

Her mother opted for sophisticated designer pieces, sporting a mint green cropped jacket with short sleeves by Dior.

Princess Charlene completed her ensemble with the French fashion house's white wide-leg trousers and white stilettos.

The coordinated colour palette of white and pale green created a harmonious visual effect as the royals greeted the French President and his wife, Brigitte, for their two-day state visit.

The royal pair's fashion coordination extends beyond recent events. During a visit to les Côtes-d'Armor in Brittany, both Princess Charlene and Princess Gabriella wore matching brown textured coats for the unveiling of a plaque marking the site as part of the Federation of Historic Sites of Grimaldi of Monaco.

Princess Charlene's solo appearances have also drawn attention for their elegance. At the 64th Monte-Carlo Television Festival's closing ceremony, she wore a sky blue Louis Vuitton evening gown featuring a halterneck design and draped shoulders.

The dress echoed the sophisticated white gown she wore to the F1 Grand Prix of Monaco gala dinner in May.
