The Princess Royal recycled an item from her mother’s wardrobe during an appearance in Windsor

Princess Anne made a touching nod to Queen Elizabeth II at a memorial service for the late King of Greece.

The Princess Royal paid tribute to her late mother by wearing a jacket which belonged to the Queen.

Anne wore a black, button-down coat to a remembrance service for King Constantine of Greece this week.

The late Queen wore the same piece of clothing during Remembrance Sunday commemorations in 2018.

Princess Anne accessorised the recycled outfit with a black hat and a patterned white and black lightweight scarf.

She also wore knee-high black boots and a large shawl to keep warm as she walked into St. George’s Chapel on Tuesday.

Queen Camilla led the Royal Family for the service at Windsor in the absence of the King, Kate and Prince William.

The Prince of Wales unexpectedly pulled out of the event for his godfather due to “personal reasons,” but Kensington Palace reassured the public that Princess Kate continues to be “doing well.”

Royal fans took to social media to comment on Anne’s decision to recycle her mother’s clothes with one person stating: “Anne is a patron of the British textile industry. She rewears things that are decades old, proving the durability of British textiles…Anne’s 70s items still look fabulous.”

The Royal Family commonly pass down clothes through the generations and Princess Anne often re-wears items from her mother’s wardrobe.

Earlier this month, the Princess Royal wore a purple jacket worn by the late Queen to a public event in Nottingham.

The purple checked velvet coat was believed to have been designed exclusively for the Queen by Angela Kelly around 2005.

Princess Anne also previously wore Queen Elizabeth’s Admiral’s Cloak to a church service in November.

Other Royal Family members have joined in the eco-conscious practice of reusing clothes including King Charles and Princess Eugenie.

In April 2023, King Charles wore Prince Philip’s camel coat, which his father first wore 67 years before.

Princess Beatrice even wore a vintage, reconfigured gown by Norman Hartnell for her wedding in 2020, which was worn by the Queen in 1962.
