Manchester United goalkeeper Earps was made a Member of the Order of the British Empire in recognition of her services to association football.

Shilton was granted the honour of Commander of the Order of the British Empire for his services to association football and the prevention of gambling harm.

Last week, the royal was spotted in Birmingham at Aston Villa's football stadium, Villa Park, to watch the Premier League side compete in the Europa Conference League semi-final first leg.

William's royal engagement comes as no senior member of the Royal Family will attend Prince Harry's Invictus event in London today.

The Duke of Sussex arrived in the UK on Tuesday and it was announced shortly after that King Charles would not meet with his son this week.

A spokesperson for the prince said: "In response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not the Duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty’s full programme.

"The Duke of course is understanding of his father’s diary of commitments and various other priorities and hopes to see him soon."

Harry last saw his father in February 2024 after it was announced that the monarch had been diagnosed with cancer.
