Prince William was "unaware" of the Sussex crunch talks between the King and Prince Harry until the photographs were publicised, sources have claimed.
A peace meeting between King Charles and the Duke of Sussex's representatives took place at a London private members' club last week.
The Prince of Wales's team was "notably absent" from the talks, which took place near the King's residence, Clarence House.
Sources suggest William only learnt about the summit through Sunday newspapers.

"William reading about the meeting in Sunday's papers will not go down well," a source told the Daily Beast, suggesting his team had not been invited to participate.
GB News has contacted Kensington Palace for comment.
The meeting brought together the King's communications secretary and Prince Harry's chief communications officer and head of PR for informal discussions.
A longtime friend of William has revealed the depth of the Prince of Wales' opposition to any reconciliation with his brother.
"William will never, ever forgive Harry for what he has done," the insider told the publication.
The friend emphasised William's firm stance on the matter, stating: "Charles is the King; he can do what he likes.
"But make no mistake: William believes with every fibre of his being that giving Harry and Meghan back any royal imprimatur is a huge mistake."
The comments suggest a significant rift remains between the brothers, with William seeming unwilling to support any moves towards reconciliation.
The meeting at the private members' club was described as informal, with no formal agenda.
"There were things both sides wanted to talk about," a source revealed, adding that it involved "just casual drinks."
The discussions represent a potential shift in relations between Harry and his father.
A source told the Mail on Sunday: "There's a long road ahead, but a channel of communication is now open for the first time in years."
The same source characterised the meeting as the "first step towards reconciliation between Harry and his father, but at least it is a step in the right direction."
They added: "Everyone just wants to move on and move forward now.
"It was finally the right time for the two sides to talk."
