Prince William attended his first event during London Climate Action Week, meeting Earthshot Prize finalists at a 'Leading with Impact' gathering in the City of London.

The event brought together influential figures from climate, business and philanthropy sectors to celebrate the 2024 finalists' achievements.


The prince was greeted by Michael R. Bloomberg, founder of Bloomberg Philanthropies and global advisor to Earthshot Prize winners.

He then participated in a workshop with the 2024 finalists, learning about their progress and future goals since joining the prize programme last year.

London welcomed the inaugural awards ceremony in 2021, whilst Rio de Janeiro will host this year's event in November.

The Earthshot Prize identifies fifteen finalists annually from innovative global solutions aimed at environmental restoration.

Five winners receive £1 million each to expand their initiatives.

Beyond the awards ceremony, the prize programme provides year-round support through mentorship, investment opportunities and public awareness campaigns for all winners and finalists worldwide.

The Prince participated in an onstage discussion alongside Robert Irwin, Dame Jacinda Ardern, former New Zealand Prime Minister and Earthshot Prize trustee, and Dara Khosrowshahi, Uber's chief executive.
