Prince William is adamant that Prince Andrew will never return to the working roles he once held in the Royal Family, according to sources.

The Prince of Wales sees his uncle as a "threat" to the Royal Family's reputation and will never allow him to hold public-facing roles for the monarchy.

The Sunday Times reports that William believes the Duke of York's previous connections to Jeffrey Epstein and the alleged spy, Yang Tengbo, means Andrew continues to pose a risk to the Royal Family's reputation.

Prince William recently opted to avoid a reunion with Prince Andrew at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, on Easter Sunday.

The majority of the Royal Family gathered at the event but the Prince and Princess of Wales opted to mark the occasion with the Middleton family in Norfolk.

Prince Andrew was joined by his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson, with whom he has maintained a close relationship despite their divorce in 1996, for the Easter celebration.

Their appearance at the event came just months after the pair pulled out of the Royal Family's Christmas celebrations.

Despite his Easter appearance, sources have now claimed that Prince Andrew's hopes for a return to royal life are over.

An insider told The Sun: "The door to a return is firmly closed."

The Duke of York stepped back from his role as a working royal in 2019 following his controversial interview on BBC's Newsnight programme.

In April, court documents emerged revealing further details about the Duke's associate Yang Tengbo.

These papers exposed that Yang Tengbo, an alleged spy linked to Andrew, was twice invited to meetings with King Charles.

A witness statement from Andrew's close aide, Dominic Hampshire, revealed these royal encounters.

The government had previously expressed concerns that Yang was attempting to exert influence over the prince.

Buckingham Palace has distanced the King from any knowledge of Yang's background.

A palace spokesman said at the time: "While His Majesty met with The Duke and his adviser to hear outline proposals for independent funding over the past year, the individual known as H6 was not mentioned at any time or in any way as part of these discussions."
