Crowds gather in hundreds as Prince William WINS dragon boat race in Singapore

Prince William went Dragon Boat Racing in Singapore with the British Dragons this morning, one day before the third annual Earthshot Prize Awards.
The Prince of Wales founded the awards in 2020 and is in Singapore for this year's ceremony.
William, 41, was called “a natural” after he won a Dragon Boat race on Singapore’s Marina Reservoir.
On Monday morning, the prince joined a training session with the British Dragons Dragon Boat Racing Team.

He was photographed against a backdrop of Singapore's most famous landmarks.
Prince William wore a white T-shirt and a dark baseball hat while he took part in the competitive race.
His team cheered their win before enjoying breakfast together.
The royal admitted he'd been "terrified" of crashing his paddles into other races during the race.

He said: “I was terrified if I got it wrong, I’d clash with the whole side and everyone would start going out of sync.
"All I care about is don’t get it wrong.
“We won…so I’ll take that. The High Commissioner planned it very well.”
Dragon boat racing began as a modern international sport in 1976.

When playing the water sport, 22 crew members will paddle a dragon-shaped boat to the beat of percussion instruments.
The British Dragons were formed in 2000 with the assistance of the British Chamber of Commerce.
It is comprised of 70 members, representing 16 nationalities, who participate in both local and international competitions.
