Prince William has spoken candidly about the devastating California wildfires whilst filming with Eugene Levy for Apple TV's The Reluctant Traveler.
The Canadian actor revealed his Pacific Palisades residence was completely destroyed during the January 2025 blazes.
Mr Levy had to flee his home on January 7 as fierce winds exceeding 100 miles per hour fuelled the inferno.
"It was like a horror movie in a way, right?" Mr Levy told William.

"Evacuation notices went out, and we were packing up and getting out. Maybe three hours later, [we] got news the place was gone."
William shared his own traumatic memories of fire devastation, recounting the night he witnessed the Windsor Castle blaze in November 1992.
"I still remember, I was having my dinner at home in Gloucestershire with my mother," the prince revealed.
"And I saw my father on television with my grandparents, taking everything out of the castle. It was all over the news at the time."

The prince, then just 10 years old, watched as Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, King Charles and other royals formed "a sort of human chain, taking stuff out of the castle as quickly as they could."
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle responded swiftly to the crisis, welcoming evacuees into their Montecito residence despite being outside the evacuation zones.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex later travelled to affected areas, meeting survivors and helping distribute essential supplies.
The couple also honoured emergency services personnel who battled the blazes.

Meghan incorporated a tribute in her Netflix programme's second series, which aired in August 2025.
"This episode, filmed in the heart of Malibu, is dedicated to the first responders and all those affected by the devastating fires that swept through communities across California in early 2025. With love, to all our neighbors," the dedication stated.
William expressed deep empathy for all those affected by the California blazes.
"Over here, we were watching," he told Mr Levy. "The winds just looked, I mean, terrifyingly fast."

The actor acknowledged the universal nature of such loss, responding: "It doesn't matter, in a castle or a bungalow, the pain is still there."
Whilst touring Windsor Castle's restored areas with Mr Levy, William emphasised hope amid devastation.
"This is the thing for me: this is such a positive story, to see what can be rebuilt. It's incredible, you know?" he reflected.
