Prince William has issued an inspiring message of support for the Lionesses as they prepare to face Spain in the Women’s Euros final on Sunday.

The Prince of Wales was full of pride as he celebrated their success so far and cheered them on for one last push.


"Good luck to the Lionesses tomorrow," William began in the message.

He continued that: "The nation is so proud you are through to the final, after some stunning comebacks!"

William concluded that: "We are all cheering you on!"

The Prince of Wales signed off the post with a simple "W" - signifying the message had come from him personally.

Reacting to William England’s 2-1 triumph over Italy during Tuesday’s semi-final, William said: "Brilliant performance @Lionesses! One game from glory!"

His statement was accompanied by King Charles’s message of congratulations, and good luck, ahead of the final.

The King said: "My wife and I join all our family in wishing you, the proud Lionesses, our warmest congratulations on reaching the final of the U.E.F.A EURO tournament.

"Your journey to this stage has been nothing short of remarkable, showcasing the skill, determination (and test of nerve!) for which your team is so rightly celebrated.

"Knowing the Lionesses' fighting spirit, I suspect we are in for another thrilling encounter on Sunday.

"Your achievements continue to inspire countless girls and women across the nation, proving once again that with dedication and teamwork, anything is possible.

"Good luck, England. May you roar to victory once more. Charles R," he signed off.

On Sunday evening, England’s women will face off against world champions Spain – a repeat of the 2023 women’s world cup final.

William will be personally in attendance at the match in Basel, Switzerland to cheers the Lionesses on.

Kensington Palace has yet to confirm if Princess Kate and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, or any other members of the Royal Family will be preset at St Jakob-Park to witness the match.

The Prince of Wales will be in Basel to cheer on the Lionesses personally

George shares a passion for football like his father, and his accompanied him to several other sporting events.

The father and son, both huge Aston Villa fans, were seen cheering on the Birmingham based team during their recent bittersweet Champion’s League campaign.

While the presence of other British royals remain unknown, the Prince of Wales will also be joined by representatives for the Spanish throne during Sunday's match.

The Royal House in Spain has confirmed that Princess Leonor of Asturias, the heir to the throne, and her younger sister, Infanta Sofía, will be in Basel to support the Spanish women's national team.
