The Prince of Wales and the former Prime Minister are currently en route together to the Middle East

Prince William is currently flying to Kuwait alongside the new Foreign Secretary, David Cameron, who is set to join the royal in the Middle East.

On behalf of King Charles, the Prince of Wales is on his way to Kuwait to pay condolences to His Highness Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

This is following the death of His Late Highness, Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The Royal Family hold longstanding ties with Kuwait, as shown by the late royal's three visits to the UK in 2023.

One of these occasions was to celebrate King Charles and Queen Camilla's Coronation in May.

The late Kuwait royal was also a Guest of Government in August, and he met King Charles briefly in October.

Prince William is also being joined by the new Foreign Secretary, David Cameron, on this trip.

The former Prime Minister is said to want to further highlight the importance of the bilateral relationship between the UK and Kuwait.

The 41-year-old first visited Kuwait in 2019, when he also travelled to Oman.

William's relationship with Cameron goes back for more than a decade, as the Foreign Secretary was Prime Minister at the time of the prince's wedding to Kate.

The Prince and Princess of Wales tied the knot on April 29, 2011, and David and Samantha Cameron were in attendance at the nuptials.

Kate is also a fan of Samantha Cameron's fashion house, Cefinn, often seen wearing a number of things from the brand.

Prince William would normally be preparing for the festive season around this time of year, with his three children having finished school for the Christmas holidays on Friday.

The Prince and Princess of Wales often have a busy schedule in the lead-up to Christmas Day.

When the 41-year-old returns from Kuwait, he will likely be preparing to travel to Sandringham with his wife and children for the festive season.

King Charles and Queen Camilla will host the Royal Family at the Norfolk estate for the monarch's second year as King.
