Meghan Markle opened up on Prince Archie's love for photography

Meghan Markle has revealed Prince Archie's hilarious reaction after being bought a camera to encourage his interest in photography.

The Duchess of Sussex gave a rare insight into the life of one of her children as hosted a post-screening film Q&A.

Meghan appeared on stage alongside filmmaker Misan Harriman and actor David Oyelowo following a screening of the pair's short film, The After.

Opening up on Archie, the Duchess revealed how her son had been inspired by Harriman and had developed a love for photography.

"Inspiration runs deep," she explained.

“Our four-and-a-half-year-old son – he would say 'I'm not four, I'm four and a half' – Misan was showing him how to do photography the last time he was with us.”

Meghan said she even bough Archie a camera to encourage his new interest.

But the four-year-old was unhappy that the camera he was given was not as expensive as the one he had learnt with.

She explained: "He said 'But it's not a Leica like Misan's?'

"[I was like] You are not getting a Leica, not even for Christmas.

"So thank you for the inspiration across the board!"

Lieca is a high-end German camera brand, with its models costing as much as £8,000 to purchase.

Meghan's chat on Archie's new hobby is a rare insight into one of the Sussex children.

Both Meghan and Harry are very keen to keep Archie and their daughter Lilibet out of the public spotlight.

Even the Duke and Duchess' Christmas card failed to include a picture of their children, with them instead opting for an image of just the two of them.

The card was released on Friday with a message reading: “On behalf of the office of Prince Harry & Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation, we wish you a very happy holiday season.

“Thanks for all the support in 2023!”

The card also featured a highlights reels of Harry and Meghan's best moments from the past year.

Deciding not to share a picture with their children, which they did in 2021 when they revealed Lilibet for the first time, the picture is diametrically opposed to William and Kate’s family-oriented Christmas card picture.

The Prince and Princess of Wales opted for a monochrome family photo for their Christmas card this year while King Charles and Queen Camilla chose a photo from the Coronation.
