The Prince and Princess of Wales also met with the parents of the three girls who tragically lost their lives in the attack last year

Prince William and Princess Kate met with Leanne Lucas and Heidi Liddle during their emotional trip to Southport on Tuesday.

Ms Lucas and Ms Liddle were the dance instructors leading a Taylor Swift themed class in that town that was the scene of a horrific mass stabbing last year.

Bebe King, six, Alice da Silva Aguiar, nine, and Elsie Dot Stancombe, seven, were tragically killed at the Hart Space dance studio in July 2024.

The Prince and Princess of Wales previously visited Southport in October last year to stand in solidarity with the local community following the incident.

On Tuesday, the couple made a second trip to the town where they visited the schools attended by the three girls.

William and Kate also shared a private meeting with Ms Lucas and Ms Liddle – who had heroically attempted to protect the 26 children attending their class during the attack.

Ms Lucas was left in critical condition following the incident.

The prince and princess also met with the parents of the three girls while they toured Churchtown Primary School and Farnborough Road Infant and Junior School.

The Prince and Princess also met with the parents of Elsie Dot Stancombe while at her former school, Farnborough Road.

Later at Churchtown Primary, where Bebe and Alice had been pupils, they met with the parents of the two girls.

While meeting with Lauren King, the mother of Bebe, William and Kate were given friendship bracelets bearing the little girl’s name.

In a touching gesture, the couple then wore the beautiful tributes throughout the rest of their engagements on the day.

While there, William delivered a powerful address to the assembled schoolchildren and teachers – while wearing the bracelet.

In his speech, the prince said: “Many lives were changed on that terrible day – including countless members of this school community.

"Bebe, Alice and Elsie’s friends and classmates have come together to support each other and remember the girls in their own way,” he continued.

“To the teaching community here at Churchtown Primary and Farnborough Road, where we visited this morning – each and every one of you has gone above and beyond to help heal this incredible group of young people. Thank you," he said.

Addressing the parents of the girls, the prince continued: “To Alex and Sergio, Lauren and Ben, Jenni and David – you are parents united in grief.

"You have faced such horror - but from that you move forward with grace and fortitude – creating the most remarkable legacies for your girls.

“We will always be here to support you... To everyone impacted on that day you will never be forgotten,” he assured.

Speaking to the schoolchildren before him, William implored them to "be brave, be joyful and be kind" and concluded on a simple but meaningful "thank you".
