Two Jewish men were stabbed this morning in what Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer called a 'deeply concerning' terror attack in north west London

Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales have condemned Wednesday's attack on the Jewish community in a fresh statement.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, who celebrated their 15th wedding anniversary today, have spoken out after the terrorist attack in Golders Green.

A Kensington Palace spokesman said: “The Prince and Princess of Wales are following the situation closely, and are, of course, concerned about the attacks upon the Jewish community.

“The innocent victims of today’s attack are in their thoughts and they wish them a speedy recovery.”

Earlier today, a Buckingham Palace spokesman issued a statement confirming King Charles was being kept informed on the situation.

They said: "His Majesty is being kept fully informed and is naturally deeply concerned, in particular about the impact for the Jewish community.

"His thoughts and prayers are with the two individuals who were injured and offers his heartfelt gratitude to those who so selflessly rushed to their aid."

A suspect attempted to stab police officers and was tasered before being arrested, in what Scotland Yard declared a terrorist incident.

A 45-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. He was taken into custody, where he remains.

Officers from the Met Police confirmed they are working to establish his nationality and background.

Specialist officers from Counter-Terrorism Policing are leading the investigation and working with Scotland Yard to establish the full circumstances.

Head of Counter-Terrorism Policing Laurence Taylor said: "Whilst I must stress this investigation is at an early stage, we are working quickly to understand exactly what happened.

"Thank you to those who were in the area at the time and supported the response to this terrible incident."

Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer told MPs in the Commons the incident in Golders Green was "deeply concerning".

He said: "There is now a police investigation and I think we all need to do everything we can to support that investigation and be absolutely clear in our determination to deal with any of these offences, the like of which we have seen too much recently."

Catherine and Prince William ate lunch in the Goring Hotel in Belgravia today to celebrate 15 years of marriage.

In addition, the Prince and Princess of Wales chose to commemorate their wedding anniversary with a meaningful return to one of the charitable causes they championed when they married in 2011.

The royal couple visited the Walworth centre operated by IntoUniversity, an organisation dedicated to supporting disadvantaged young people in reaching their educational and career potential.

IntoUniversity was among 26 charities selected by the couple for their Royal Wedding Gift Fund, which invited well-wishers to make donations rather than purchase traditional wedding presents.
