Prince William is set to address delegates at a major investment summit in Newport, marking Wales's largest international gathering since hosting Nato leaders 11 years ago.

The Welsh Government has organised the event at the International Convention Centre Wales to attract foreign investment into new Welsh ventures.

Organisers anticipate more than 250 companies will participate in the summit, with 150 attending their first Welsh investment event. The gathering represents Wales's most substantial hosting opportunity since the 2014 Nato summit took place in the country.

The Prince of Wales will deliver a keynote speech promoting Wales as a destination for international investment and business development.

He intends to praise the collaborative approach between industry, academia and government in Wales, describing it as "not in isolation, but as part of a single, connected community".

William will characterise this partnership as "collaboration at its very best" that is "practical, purposeful and grounded in trust".

The Prince will describe Wales as an integrated ecosystem spanning multiple industries, stating it is his "honour to play my part in championing the dynamic nation Wales is today as we look to the future".

The summit draws participation from diverse economic sectors including clean energy, technology, life sciences, financial services, manufacturing and creative industries.

Foreign investment already plays a substantial role in Wales's economy, with 1,545 international companies currently operating across the nation.

These foreign-owned enterprises provide employment for more than 176,500 people throughout Wales, according to Welsh Government figures.
