Prince William has revealed how he and Princess Kate navigated their children's questions about her cancer diagnosis during a television interview in Brazil.
The Prince of Wales spoke candidly with presenter Luciano Huck about the family's approach to discussing health challenges.
The heir to the throne disclosed that the royal couple chose complete transparency with Prince George, aged 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven, regarding the medical situations affecting both their mother and grandfather.
The prince acknowledged the complexity of addressing such sensitive topics with young children during what has been a challenging period for the Waleses.

"Every family goes through difficult times and faces challenges together. How you deal with those moments makes all the difference," he told the Brazilian host from the Domingão programme.
The prince’s comments mark a rare public discussion about how the Waleses have managed the emotional impact of serious illness.
"We decided to tell our children everything, both the good news and the bad. We explain to them why certain things happen and why they might feel upset," William revealed to Mr Huck.
He acknowledged the inherent challenges of guiding children through such circumstances.

Beyond health discussions, William offered glimpses into the Waleses' daily routines. The prince described sharing school transport duties with Kate, though he admitted she handles the majority of these responsibilities.
"Play dates, taxi driver, sports days, matches, playing in the garden when I can," he listed amongst his parental duties. "School run most days, I mean, Catherine and I share it, but she probably does the bulk of it."

The television encounter took place during William's five-day Brazilian visit to present his Earthshot Prize awards.
During the interview, Mr Huck presented the prince with a photograph of Princess Diana from her 1991 São Paulo visit, showing her embracing a child with HIV.
"She became a very important figure in the fight against prejudice," the presenter noted, prompting William's response: "I carry her social and humanitarian legacy with me every day."
