Prince Harry has been advised to “look in the mirror” by a royal commentator amid the 'toxic' storm that is currently swirling around the row at Sentebale.

The African-based charity returned to the headlines on Tuesday as the Duke of Sussex was cleared in a report that investigated claims of bullying and other abuses at the organisation.

The Charity Commission’s report found there had been crossed wires over the authority of various roles and insufficient ways of handling internal disputes.

However, the Commission did not find evidence of widespread bullying, harassment, misogyny, or misconduct by Prince Harry or by any other trustees.

Upon its release, the report and subsequent war of words issued through spokespeople immediately dominated the royal news agenda.

Vectren royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams believed the skyrocketing interest of the media and general public in his row with the charity should come as no surprise to the Duke.

“The media storm around the Sussexes is because of their behaviour,” he began.

On the Sentebale scandal specifically, Fitzwilliams suggested Harry and Meghan’s previously dealings with the media, particularly in relation to the Royal Family, were “directly connected”.

He highlighted the complaints made against Prince Harry by Sentebale's chairwoman Dr Sophie Chandauka, which were the basis of the recent investigation.

She accused the Duke of “unacceptable behaviour” regarding broader claims of bullying and other abuses at the charity.

Fitzwilliams felt the claims bore a distinct similarity to the accusations the Sussex’s once levied against the Royal Family.

Fitzwilliams declared: “If Harry wants to know why all this has been as toxic it is, he should look in the mirror”.

Following the verdict, a spokesperson for Prince Harry shared a statement with GB News.

"With the original mission of Sentebale firmly in mind - and in honour of the legacy he and Prince Seeiso [of Lesotho] began - The Duke of Sussex will now focus on finding new ways to continue supporting the children of Lesotho and Botswana" they said.

Prince Harry resigned as Patron of the charity earlier this year after a feud broke out between the trustees and Sentebale chairwoman Dr Sophie Chandauka.

For her part, Dr Chandauka said: "The unexpected adverse media campaign that was launched by those who resigned on 24 March 2025 has caused incalculable damage and offers a glimpse of the unacceptable behaviours displayed in private.

"We are emerging not just grateful to have survived, but stronger: more focused, better governed, boldly ambitious and with our dignity intact.

"Despite the recent turbulence, we will always be inspired by the vision of our Founders, Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso, who established Sentebale in memory of their precious mothers, Princess Diana and Queen Mamohato," she concluded.
