Prince Harry set to stay with Royal Family after Windsor Castle request was rejected

The King told Harry about his diagnosis during a private conversation on Monday before it was announced publicly.

Buckingham Palace confirmed the King's cancer in a statement at 6pm yesterday.

Prince Harry does not currently have a base in the UK after he was evicted from Frogmore Cottage last year.

The Duke of Sussex's request to stay in a room at Windsor Castle was rejected in September 2023 with the Royal Family citing a lack of notice as the reason for the denial.

However, Prince Harry is expected to be allowed to stay at a Royal Family residence during his time in the UK.

Harry immediately decided to travel to England after learning of his father's cancer.

Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet are expected to stay in the US with Meghan Markle as Prince Harry travels to the UK to be with King Charles.

A source close to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex told the Mail that Meghan and their two young children will remain in LA while Harry travels back to the UK.

Harry and Meghan moved to the US in 2020 after stepping down as working members of the Royal Family.

The couple have been feuding with senior members of the Royal Family since they departed from the Firm.

The Duchess of Sussex did not visit the UK in 2023.

Prince Harry's children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet also did not visit the UK last year despite their father making several trips back to the country of his birth.

Meghan Markle was last in the UK for Queen Elizabeth II's funeral in September 2022.
