The Prince of Wales remains "disgusted" by the actions of his brother

Prince Harry's "very painful" betrayal of his brother Prince William is scuppering the chance of crunch talks between the Duke of Sussex and King Charles, a source has claimed.

The Duke of Sussex launched several public attacks on senior members of the Royal Family, including his brother William, in his autobiography Spare.

A friend of William has claimed that the Prince of Wales feels "utterly betrayed" by comments Prince Harry made in Spare and in his Netflix documentary titled Harry & Meghan.

Prince William's friend said: "He feels utterly betrayed by what Harry wrote about him in the book [Spare] and said about him on Netflix."

The source continued: "They were very close growing up so it has been very painful for William.

"But ultimately what can he do? Just look at Spare.

"It’s literally William’s worst nightmare. It is a total violation of his privacy.

"On top of that, Harry has criticised Kate and the way he is bringing up his children."

Another royal source claimed that King Charles's staff were looking at the possibility of talks with Prince Harry in September.

They said: "King Charles is due to return to London from Balmoral in the middle of September, which ties in with the end of Harry’s Invictus Games trip to Düsseldorf.

"The King has a rescheduled official visit to France on September 20, so [he] has a few days to spare in London to meet with his son.

"Staff are trying to fine-tune the details as we speak."

However, other Buckingham Palace insiders have ruled out the possibility of peace talks taking place in person between the King and Harry.

It is doubtful that King Charles will proceed with meaningful peace talks with the Duke of Sussex without consulting Prince William.
