"It's like the Government of Churchill. Lurching from one disaster to another," Camilla deadpanned

Watch the moment Camilla Tominey left a Labour MP sitting in awkward silence while she reeled off every Labour U-turn since their ascent to power.

Joining the GB News host in the studio, Alex Ballinger, who is the MP for Halesowen in the West Midlands, was subject to a lengthy tirade over his bosses' behaviour in Downing Street.

Camilla first put the latest U-turn to Mr Ballinger on pubs' business rates, which he then went on to defend.

But the GB News star refused to accept his persistent defence of the Chancellor's backtrack altogether, taking aim at the absence of strength in Sir Keir Starmer's Cabinet.

She fumed: "This is another example of the Government seemingly making up as it goes along. They come out with a policy that makes no sense.

"The people affected by the policy, be it people who are claiming winter fuel, farmers, publicans, they turn around and say this is a disastrous policy that's gone wrong.

"Then handbrake turn. The Labour Government U-turns on it. That's a sign of weakness.

"If it was one U-turn, it would be one thing. It's U-turn after U-turn after U-turn. It suggests the Government doesn't know what it's doing."

Mr Ballinger insisted pubs will welcome the change and said he was "really pleased" Rachel Reeves announced the follow-up consultation on the business tax rates - to no avail.

Camilla interjected: "Can we just be real here? This is the list of U-turns.

"Farmers tax. Income tax hike at 2025 Budget. Two-child benefit cap. Benefit reforms. Winter fuel payment. Gang rape inquiry.

"Waspi women. National insurance hike. Trans women and women. Oh no, actually, they're not - they're men. Royal mail nationalisation. We're now talking about an apparent U-turn on jury trials.

"It speaks to a Government that is making it up as it goes along. You have to appreciate that. I bet voters in Halesowen do say that to you on the doorstep."

Nevertheless, Mr Ballinger claimed he "wouldn't accept all of those things as U-turns" and proceeded to blame the state of the public finances and public services on the Conservatives.

Camilla stopped him, saying: "Hang on a minute. Okay. Can we just again, can we just get real as far as our audience is concerned?

"Keir Starmer has become one of the least popular Prime Ministers in history. Both Budgets have been widely derided as a disaster.

"People are still feeling the cost of living squeeze, even if they're meant to be well off. You can't possibly be sitting here arguing at this stage with an approval rating of -59, that the Prime Minister has been doing a good job.

"You can't be saying that."

Mr Ballinger hit back: "Would you prefer a Government that pushed on regardless, despite the public view? Would you like a Government that is listening to stakeholders, including pubs?"

"It's like the Government of Churchill. Lurching from one disaster to another," Camilla deadpanned. "That's the Government we have."
