Prince Harry made a surprise appearance at a US cinema as he attended the premiere of Heart of the Invictus Games.

The Duke of Sussex was in good spirits as he joked with the audience that it was "nice of you to dress up for the occasion".

Harry came out to cheers from the audience before they were shown two episodes of the Netflix documentary.

The showing was organised by Netflix and the Sussexes' Archewell organisation.

Earlier this month, Netflix posted a trailer of the documentary on X.

The streaming giant wrote: "HEART OF INVICTUS follows a group of extraordinary competitors from around the globe: service members who have experienced life-changing injuries or illnesses on their road to the Invictus Games.Coming 30 August."

Prince Harry says in the trailer for the limited series: "The Games doesn’t focus on what causes the injury but really about the recovery and how to be part of a community again."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are also set to start working on another project in their partnership with Netflix.

Netflix has paid £3m to acquire the film rights to Carley Fortune’s Meet Me at the Lake under the Sussexes' Archewell Productions arm.

Despite Meghan and Harry having very limited experience when it comes to producing films, the couple will be trusted to have a major role in turning the romantic novel into a film.

Meet Me at the Lake echoes the couple's personal story and includes a character whose parent dies in a car crash.

Meghan and Harry are under pressure to create successful content for Netflix after their deal with Spotify was axed.

The couple's deal with the music streaming giant was terminated after the Duchess of Sussex's 12-part podcast series Archetypes left Spotify executives underwhelmed.
