The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have spent the last three Christmases away from the UK.

The couple were not expected to return to Britain for the festive period as their feud with the Royal Family continues.

The Sussexes are not on speaking terms with the Prince and Princess of Wales and are barely speaking to King Charles.

It comes as Harry and Meghan disputed a report in the Sunday Times claiming they had snubbed an invite to King Charles's birthday.

A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said: "In response to UK media headlines, there has been no contact regarding an invitation to His Majesty’s upcoming birthday.

"It is disappointing the Sunday Times has misreported this story."

The Sunday Times had claimed that a royal insider had confirmed the couple had turned down an invite to the monarch's celebration next week.

The source told the publication: "There are issues that aren’t resolved and there won’t be a rapprochement any time soon.

"There is the sense of a cooling-off period from the family that is underway after the aftershocks of the book and interviews.

"But that doesn’t change the King’s love for his son.

"He’ll never not invite his son to a family gathering, because that’s not who he is."
