Meghan Markle's Spotify podcast was scrapped after just one series

Celebrities are "distancing themselves" from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as the couple "overpromise and underdeliver", a royal expert claims.

Kinsey Schofield said the Sussexes look like a "one trick pony" which celebrities don't want to be associated with.

"They look like a one trick pony over at Netflix with their reality show. That's the only successful title they [have] over there so far," Schofield told Sky News Australia.

"Celebrities and companies are distancing themselves from the Sussexes because they do seem to be a flop. They do seem to bring a lot of drama wherever they go and overpromise and underdeliver."

Streaming giant Spotify announced last week that it was dumping Meghan's Archetypes podcast.

Her failed podcast has recently been torn to shreds by the head of an elite talent agency.

Jeremy Zimmer slammed the Duchess saying: "Turns out Meghan Markle was not a great audio talent, or necessarily any kind of talent."

He added: "And, you know, just because you’re famous doesn’t make you great at something," according to the Semafor news website.

It emerged on Sunday that Taylor Swift rejected a handwritten invitation from Meghan to appear on her show, which ran for 12 episodes from August 2022.

Swift is not the only pop star to snub an invite from Meghan in recent months.

An invitation to Prince Archie's fourth birthday party was snubbed by a different A-lister in May.

Harry rushed back from King Charles's Coronation to make the celebration in Montecito, while Katy Perry attended the historic ceremony at Westminster Abbey on May 6.

Last week, the couple suffered another blow as US officials refused to grant them a trademark on their Archetypes podcast.

The US Patent and Trademark Office refused to grant a trademark for the Archetypes podcast, on the grounds of confusion with an existing Arizonian company.
