The Duke of Sussex and the Prince of Wales did not exchange a "single message" during the Christmas period last year, according to a royal commentator

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will have to navigate another tense Christmas period with Prince William and Kate.

The couples have barely communicated in 2023 as their feud deepened following the publication of the Duke of Sussex's autobiography.

Spare, released in January 2023, contained multiple attacks on the Prince and Princess of Wales.

The relationship between the Sussexes and the Waleses was already hanging by a thread when Queen Elizabeth II died in September 2022, according to royal author Omid Scobie's bombshell book Endgame.

Scobie's book which was released on Tuesday, heavily criticises the senior members of the Royal Family and favours Meghan and Harry, however, the couple have insisted they have not collaborated with the author.

Endgame also gives an insight into the strain the relationship between Harry and William was under even before Spare was published.

Discussing the Christmas period of 2022, Scobie claims not a single message was exchanged between the brothers.

He adds that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did send presents for William and Kate's children.

Discussing the Christmas period of 2022, Scobie claims not a single message was exchanged between the brothers.

Scobie writes: "They say deaths and births can bring battling families back together, but neither have helped the Prince of Wales and the Duke of Sussex.

"In the wake of the Queen’s death, the brothers remained in their own separate corners.

"Over the Christmas holidays that followed, not a single message was exchanged (though gifts were sent by the Sussexes to George, Charlotte, and Louis)."

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have spent the last three Christmases away from the UK.

It is even more unlikely that the Sussexes will return this year due to the couple no longer having a base in Britain.

King Charles evicted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex from Frogmore Cottage earlier this year following the publication of Spare.

Harry also sent his father a video of Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet singing happy birthday to mark the occasion.
