Prince Harry's public criticism of Princess Kate and Prince William in his 2023 autobiography Spare led to the royal couple cutting contact with the Duke of Sussex.
Below we take a look at some of the insights Prince Harry shared in his memoir regarding his relationships with the Prince and Princess of Wales.
The Duke of Sussex opened up on his deeply personal reflections about his brother's 2011 wedding to Kate, describing her as "the sister I'd never had and always wanted".
He wrote that whilst he loved his new sister-in-law and felt she was "more sister than in-law", the ceremony marked a profound turning point in his relationship with William.
"I recall Kate walking down the aisle, looking incredible, and I recall Willy walking her back up the aisle, and as they disappeared through the door, into the carriage that would convey them to Buckingham Palace, into the eternal partnership they'd pledged, I recall thinking: Goodbye," Harry wrote in his January 2023 memoir.

Despite his happiness for the couple, Harry couldn't shake the feeling that the wedding represented "yet another farewell".
"The brother I'd escorted into Westminster Abbey that morning was gone forever," Harry wrote. "Who could deny it? He'd never again be first and foremost Willy. We'd never again ride together across the Lesotho countryside with capes blowing behind us. We'd never again share a horsey-smelling cottage while learning to fly. Who shall separate us? Life, that's who."
The Duke of Sussex expressed in his memoir that whilst he was pleased Kate would "forever be standing by Willy's side" and that she was "a good match for my older brother", he couldn't escape the sense of loss.
"But in my gut I couldn't help feeling that this was yet another farewell under this horrid roof. Another sundering," he wrote.
Harry's memoir also detailed warmer moments between the couples, particularly when he introduced Meghan to William and Kate.

He had initially worried that "Willy and Kate might not welcome Meg into the family", but their reaction exceeded his expectations.
"Now I had to worry about them hounding her for an autograph," Harry wrote, explaining that the couple were fans of Suits, the television programme in which Meghan starred.
The Duke recalled hosting William and Kate for dinner during one of Meghan's visits.
"Meg cooked, and everything was good. Willy had a cold: he was sneezing and coughing, and Meg ran upstairs to get him some of her homeopathic cure-alls. Oregano oil, turmeric. He seemed charmed, moved, though Kate announced to the table that he'd never take such unconventional remedies."
However, tensions emerged between the sisters-in-law over personal boundaries.

Harry recounted an incident where Kate confronted Meghan about a comment regarding "baby brain" shortly after the Princess of Wales had given birth to Prince Louis.
"You hurt my feelings, Meghan," Kate said, according to Harry's memoir.
When Meghan asked for clarification, Kate explained: "I told you I couldn't remember something and you said it was my hormones."
Harry wrote that Meghan appeared "genuinely confused" by the confrontation. "I'm sorry I talked about your hormones. That's just how I talk with my girlfriends," Meghan reportedly responded.
Kate's reaction was swift: "Yes. You talked about my hormones. We're not close enough for you to talk about my hormones!"
The memoir also addressed the widely reported story about tears before Harry and Meghan's wedding.
According to Harry, Kate acknowledged during a later conversation that the narrative had been misrepresented in the media.
"Kate got things rolling straightaway by acknowledging that these stories in the papers about Meg making her cry were totally false. I know, Meghan, that I was the one who made you cry," Harry quoted Kate as saying.
The Duke wrote that whilst Meghan "appreciated the apology", she remained concerned about why the false version had been published and "what was being done to correct them".
This revelation contradicted months of coverage that had portrayed Meghan as the aggressor in the pre-wedding incident.
Harry's memoir also explored broader family dynamics, including his and William's response to their father's relationship with Camilla.
The Duke revealed that whilst the brothers weren't opposed to Charles having a romantic relationship with now-Queen Camilla following Princess Diana's death, they didn't want him to marry her.
Harry admitted he initially feared Camilla would be like a "wicked stepmother", writing: "I remember wondering...if she would be cruel to me; if she would be like all the wicked stepmothers in the stories."
