The future King will soon face the next 'milestone in his life'

Prince George may be grappling with “nerves” as he prepares for “another big change” in his life next year, a veteran royal expert has observed.

The 12-year-old future King currently attends Lambrook School with his siblings, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, but will progress to secondary education next year.

While the next destination of George remains unconfirmed, he will leave behind his siblings as he begins “another milestone in his life”.

Veteran royal commentator Jennie Bond believed the significant transition may be providing some trepidation for the young Prince.

William and Catherine's baby boy George is rapidly turning into a young man - and this last year at Lambrook School with his siblings will be another milestone in his life,” she observed.

"I’m sure that he’ll feel nervous about the big change ahead, but hopefully some of his school friends will be making the move with him, wherever he is headed,” the expert added.

Along with the new setting and split from his siblings, Ms Bond acknowledged that George would have to adjust to a more distant role of his parents in his schooling.

"George has become used to his parents being deeply involved in his school life,” she explained.

“As often as possible, it’s mum or dad who does the school run, and I’m sure they’re fully invested in every aspect of his education.

“That’s going to be another big change ahead,” Ms Bond empathised to The Mirror.

The commentator felt that this upcoming academic year would therefore be a special one for the Waleses.

"There’s no doubt they will all cherish this final year of the three children being together – if, indeed, it does turn out that they end up at different schools,” she said.

The question of what school George will attend in September 2026 remains officially unanswered.

However, it was suggested in June that "all roads lead to Eton" regarding Prince George's further education.

The elite institution can be found is close to the family’s Windsor home, both current and future in Forest Lodge, and was where Prince William once studied.

Earlier this month, it was reported that George has been assigned to one of Eton's 25 boarding houses appearing to confirm a choice had been made.

As a boy’s only school, a move to Eton would leave the Wales siblings split in their secondary education when it came time for Charlotte and Louis to progress.

While the decision appears to have been made, Kate and William have investigated other institutions.

Another front runner was Marlborough College, where the Princess of Wales thrived during her own education.

The co-educational nature of Marlborough would have allowed Princess Charlotte to join her elder brother, presenting a compelling option for keeping the siblings together.
