Prince Andrew is "very keen" for Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie to step up as working royals, a royal author exclusively told GB News.
The Princesses of York are not currently working members in King Charles III's slimmed-down monarchy.
However, with the departures of the Duke of York, Prince Harry, and Meghan Markle as working royals, a royal commentator believes that Beatrice and Eugenie could soon be enlisted to take their place.
Gareth Russell, who wrote The Palace: From the Tudors to the Windsors, 500 Years of History at Hampton Court, spoke exclusively to GB News about Prince Andrew wanting his daughters to become working royals.
Prince Andrew is Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie's fatherPAHe said: "It is well known that Prince Andrew was keen on his daughters becoming Their Royal Highnesses and having the titles of princess.
"But whether or not he's had any role in them being working royals, I'm not sure.
"Public opinion poll after public opinion poll has shown that there is no public appetite whatsoever for the Duke of York to return to life as a working royal.
"Most people on average, 80 to 83 percent of people polled, said they did not want to see Prince Andrew return to life as a working royal.

"But certainly for the rest of their life, he has been someone who's been very keen for them to take on a public role."
Unlike Beatrice and Eugenie's younger cousins, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex, the York sisters do have princess titles.
This was something the Duke of York was adamant about wanting when they were born in 1988 and 1990 respectively.

In 2011, then-Prince Charles was instrumental in stripping the sisters from receiving taxpayer-funded royal security.
At the time, royal commentator Angela Levin said: "Charles decided that as they were not likely to be very senior royals, that this was too much for the public to pay, so he stopped that."
Eugenie and Beatrice are now both married with children and work with several patronages, however, they do not officially carry out duties on behalf of the Royal Family.
