This means charges will not be brought against the King's younger brother

The FBI has officially dropped its investigation into the Duke of York's links to the late paedophile, Jeffrey Epstein, GB News can confirm.

This means charges will not be brought against the King's younger brother or any other high-profile figure associated with the disgraced billionaire.

GB News contacted the Department of Justice for comment, which confirmed the authenticity of the memo.

Prince Andrew was accused of having sex with an underage girl, Virginia Giuffre, on at least three occasions after allegedly being trafficked by Epstein and his associates - an accusation the Prince has always strenuously denied.

In the now-infamous Newsnight interview in 2019, the Duke claimed he would cooperate with any FBI investigation into the accusations if he was given the legal advice to do so.

Prince Andrew also claimed he could not have had sex with Giuffre in London in the early 2000s, because he was taking his daughter to a Pizza Express birthday party in Woking.

He also dismissed Giuffre's claim that he was "sweating" while dancing with her at a nightclub, citing a medical condition sparked by active duty in the Falklands War.

The Duke of York was subsequently criticised for not offering sympathy to Epstein's victims, and was forced to step back from public duties; Queen Elizabeth II also stripped him of his royal titles and patronages.

Giuffre then launched a civil lawsuit against him in the United States, which eventually led to an out-of-court settlement where Prince Andrew paid a substantial sum of money to her and a charity supporting victims of abuse.

The King's brother did not admit any guilt as part of the settlement. In April of this year, Giuffre took her own life in Australia, aged 41.

The FBI's conclusions follow a "comprehensive internal review" ordered by officials who were appointed by President Trump.

A separate victim of Jeffrey Epstein told the Mirror the FBI's decision to end its investigation into the so-called "Epstein Client List" was "disgraceful and degrading."

The now 36-year-old said: "For years we were told the truth would come out, that the powerful men who enabled Epstein would be held accountable."

"Now they’re closing the case and telling us there’s nothing more to see. It’s hard not to feel like we’ve been silenced all over again. It is both disgraceful and degrading to all victims that not one man has been held accountable for the decades of abuse inflicted by Epstein and his buddies."

However, according to a new two-page memo, investigators “did not uncover evidence that could predicate an investigation against uncharged third parties.”

It added that “perpetuating unfounded theories about Epstein serves neither justice nor the victims”, and says that one of the Government’s highest priorities remains “combating child exploitation and bringing justice to victims.”

No definitive evidence of a "client list" was ever found in any of Epstein's properties.

The FBI told GB News they have "nothing further to add" regarding the latest developments with Prince Andrew.
