Despite the Andrew scandal, overall backing for the monarchy remains relatively steady, dropping just two points to 50 per cent.
Two-fifths of respondents maintained that Britain would suffer without the institution.
Gideon Skinner, senior director of UK politics at Ipsos, said: “These findings underscore a critical moment for the Royal Family in the court of public opinion.
“Prince Andrew's already low favourability ratings have sunk even further, and there is widespread support for him renouncing his official titles.
“However, despite the turbulence surrounding Prince Andrew, it is slightly better news for the Palace that so far overall support for the monarchy remains relatively stable.”
The King's younger brother's decision to give up his titles came amid intense public scrutiny concerning his friendship with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Prince Andrew said in a statement released by Buckingham Palace on Friday: "In discussion with The King, and my immediate and wider family, we have concluded the continued accusations about me distract from the work of His Majesty and the Royal Family.
"I have decided, as I always have, to put my duty to my family and country first. I stand by my decision five years ago to stand back from public life.
"With His Majesty’s agreement, we feel I must now go a step further. I will therefore no longer use my title or the honours which have been conferred upon me.
"As I have said previously, I vigorously deny the accusations against me."
