Prince Albert's daughter has made her feelings clear on being called "illegitimate" in a new video.
Jazmin Grimaldi marked her 34th birthday on March 4 with a powerful declaration to her Instagram followers, announcing she is working on her debut solo album whilst firmly rejecting the labels that have followed her throughout her life.
The daughter of Prince Albert II of Monaco and granddaughter of Hollywood legend Grace Kelly used the video message to push back against terms such as "lovechild" and what she called "that horrible word, 'illegitimate.'"
"I've learned that my worth is non-negotiable," she stated, adding: "I'm reclaiming my story, for me, myself, and I."

The Palm Springs native revealed she has spent the past year developing the album.
The actress and singer was just 14 when she learned the identity of her biological father, a revelation that came as she was completing fourth grade and preparing for high school.
"My father is Prince Albert of Monaco, my grandmother is Grace Kelly," she explained in the video, filmed against a backdrop of blue sea.
She likened the experience to a "real-life Princess Diaries," though noted it was far less glamorous than the films suggest.

"Royalty has been part of my story, but it's not everything in my story," she said, describing how others have attempted to define her for years through various labels.
Ms Grimaldi has built a substantial career in entertainment since graduating from Fordham University.
Her acting credits include an appearance in the third season of Amazon Prime's The Marvellous Mrs Maisel, alongside a starring role in the 2020 romantic drama Cicada.
Music has long been part of her creative output, with the performer releasing a track called "Thankful" alongside Ian Mellencamp in 2019.
"I've been singing, acting and creating since I was a little girl," she explained, recalling how she would perform for her stuffed animals and invent characters as a form of escape.
"I think through my art is the best way to encapsulate" her identity and voice, she added.
Ms Grimaldi has embraced philanthropic work in honour of her grandmother's legacy, frequently appearing alongside Prince Albert at charitable events.

In October 2024, she attended the Princess Grace Awards Gala at New York's Pierre Hotel with her father, wearing a metallic Alex Teih gown she styled herself.
"A reason for the season celebrating my Grandmother's legacy, love and support for the arts and artists," she wrote on Instagram ahead of the event, noting the foundation's 40th anniversary.
Last year, she accompanied Prince Albert to the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, telling the Daily Mail: "I came to represent my family and to promote my acting."
