Pippa Middleton a 'fitting choice for non-extensive Royal Family role'

She could be considered for the role of her sister's lady-in-waiting once Kate becomes Queen
Pippa Middleton would be a “fitting choice for a non-extensive Royal Family role” during Prince William and Kate’s reign, a royal correspondent has claimed.
Kate will become Queen in the future once her husband, Prince William ascends to the throne.
Pippa, 40, could be considered for the role of her sister's lady-in-waiting once she becomes Queen - a role that has traditionally been expected to serve the Queen for life.
Ladies-in-waiting historically assisted with royal duties, including managing the Queen’s wardrobe and helping her dress and bathe.
Whilst the tradition sounds like it could be a long-gone relic, the practice of appointing ladies-in-waiting still stands - albeit with different roles.
The late Queen Elizabeth had several and whilst Queen Camilla discarded the name, she has appointed six women who will support her as she carries out her duties - known as “The Queen’s Companions”.
HELLO!'s Online Royal Correspondent, Danielle Stacey, believes that Pippa, who famously wowed fans at her sister's royal wedding in 2011, could be a shoe-in for a ladies-in-waiting style role once Kate becomes Queen.
She said: “The Princess of Wales's sister, Pippa Matthews, would be a fitting choice as one of Kate's Queen's Companions, and I think like Camilla, she will use this modern terminology rather than ladies-in-waiting.
ROYAL LATEST:
“Pippa has been there to support Kate through some of the biggest moments in her life – including her role as maid of honour at the royal wedding. The work that modern Queen's Companions carry out is not extensive as it once was, and on certain occasions, they may attend an engagement instead of a private secretary or a deputy private secretary, as we have seen with Queen Camilla.”
Like Kate, Pippa has three young children, including her youngest Rose, who was born in 2022.
The sisters also have a younger brother named James, who they are both equally as close to.
Stacey’s claims have been echoed by Royal historian Kate Williams, who said that Pippa had been tipped to be “appointed” in a key role.
Pippa and her husband James
PASpeaking on the Royal Beat podcast, she said: “I think traditionally, we might expect Catherine to appoint her sister Pippa, [as her lady in waiting] because Catherine is so famously close to her family.
“She doesn't have companions because she's so close to her mother and her sister.”
Williams said the role of Queen is constantly evolving so when Kate takes on the role, she will likely need some assistance to help her carry out her duties.
She explained: “So when Catherine becomes Queen, the levels of tours, the levels of letters, the level of receptions, will still require this assistance.
“So I think she will have to appoint some ladies in waiting.”
