Netflix’s Chief Content Officer has set the record straight after the streaming giant split from Meghan Markle’s lifestyle brand, As Ever, reaffirming that there are still projects in the works.

The pair severed ties at the start of March, with the Duchess of Sussex taking full control of her brand.

The lifestyle brand launched last year to coincide with Meghan’s Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, but the duchess received a blow when it was revealed the show would not receive new episodes after two series and a festive special.

Bela Bajaria, CCO at Netflix, confirmed the Sussexes still have projects with the streaming giant, saying: “We still have a relationship with them. We have movies in development with them. We have an amazing doc with them.

“They have things in development on the TV and film side. Deals come and go all the time, and we don’t renew so many deals, those just don’t get as much press for obvious reasons. There’s no juicy story there,” Ms Bajaria said at a press event.

Meghan’s Netflix show failed to draw much of a following when the second season launched last year, before reports claimed the show would not receive further seasons.

The second season dropped on the platform on August 26, and was only viewed two million times in the final four months of 2025.

This figure made it the 1,217th most-watched title on the platform, according to Netflix’s What We Watched.

The festive special, which launched in December, received slightly better viewing numbers, reaching 1,015th with 2.4m views.

In a statement regarding the split, an As Ever representative told GB News at the time: “As ever is grateful for Netflix’s partnership through launch and our first year.

"We have experienced meaningful and rapid growth and As Ever is now ready to stand on its own. We have an exciting year ahead and can’t wait to share more."

Following the split, reports claimed that the duchess had her sights set on expanding As Ever to Australia. Meghan's spokesman exclusively told GB News: “This is speculation. No decisions have been made about when or where international expansion might take place.

“Entering new markets is a considered process, but it’s something the brand is excited to explore as it continues to grow in this next phase. Watch this space.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are set to travel to Australia next month for "a number of private, business, and philanthropic engagements".

Meghan will be a guest speaker at an exclusive women-only retreat in Sydney, with prices starting from £1,400.

Those purchasing VIP tickets, priced at approximately £1,700, will secure front-row seating and the opportunity to pose for a group photograph with the duchess.
