The rugby legend shared a sweet photograph with Zara at Melbourne Cricket Ground

Mike and Zara Tindall hailed the British and Irish Lions' victory on Monday morning, opting not to join the royals with a statement regarding the Lionesses's Euro 2025 triumph.

The rugby legend shared a sweet photograph with Zara at Melbourne Cricket Ground, where they watched Australia take on the British & Irish Lions on Saturday.

Taking to Instagram two days later, Mike captioned the post: "What a day Saturday was!! Lions an incredible come back, but massive shift by the Wallabies, frustrated no doubt but they get one more chance next Saturday!!"

The Lions won the match 26-29, and are due to play against Australia again on August 2.

Elsewhere in Mike's post, he shared snaps from a pub called Howden Arms, and a hilarious picture of himself wearing a black wig.

Zara and Mike were clearly in support of their home team, given the fact that they wore British and Irish Lions outfits.

The post came one day after England's Lionesses defeated Spain in the Women's European Championships.

Despite this victory, the Tindalls opted not to recognise the historic win, choosing instead to celebrate the rugby from Saturday.

Mike's post also came just days before the Tindalls are expected to celebrate their 14th wedding anniversary.

On July 30, 2011, Zara walked down the aisle at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh - a wedding ceremony attended by all senior members of the Royal Family, including Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip.

Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips, despite divorcing in 1992, reunited at the ceremony to watch their daughter marry Mike Tindall. The couple went on to welcome three children, Mia, 11, Lena, seven, and Lucas, four.

Zara, 44, and Mike, 46, are huge fans of Australia, having met there during the Rugby World Cup in 2003.

Earlier this month, the couple enjoyed their first visit to Hamilton Island. Mike wrote on Instagram: "We had the chance to spend a few days on Hamilton Island this week - despite all the times we have been to Australia, we have never been here before and it's been amazing."

He described their reef experience as "unreal", noting that "Queensland definitely has it all." The Tindalls' time on the water left a lasting impression, with Mike sharing his enthusiasm about the marine park experience.

"It's our first time being out on the water in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park too and it really was unreal," he posted on social media.

The rugby legend reflected on his Queensland holiday, writing: "Made some incredible memories. What an unforgettable way to spend some downtime."
