Mike Tindall has taken to social media to promote a November charity event following his recent trip to Australia with his wife Zara.

The former England rugby player updated his Instagram story to advertise the "Blackeye Gin x BŌKEN Charity Night" scheduled for November 7 in London.

The announcement comes after the couple made an unexpected appearance at Wednesday's State of Origin rugby league decider in Sydney.

They watched Queensland defeat New South Wales 24-12 at Accor Stadium as guests of Nicole Slater, wife of Queensland coach Billy Slater.

The 46-year-old will host the London event alongside his podcast co-hosts James Haskell and Alex Payne.

Mike also shared a preview of a members-only extra episode of The Good, The Bad and The Rugby podcast called "The Lock In" on his Instagram story. The charity event represents the latest collaboration between the rugby legend and his podcast partners.

Zara and Mike attended Wednesday's match wearing Queensland's maroon colours and secured prime seats directly on the field.

They were filmed standing alongside Nicole Slater and cheering enthusiastically for the Maroons throughout the game.

Mike was spotted recording video footage of both the crowd and the match on his phone during play.

The pair braved Sydney's winter conditions, bundling up in jackets and beanies as temperatures dropped to eight degrees Celsius by the end of the match at Homebush.

Their presence at the rugby league decider surprised local spectators, as they chose to support Queensland's series-clinching victory rather than attend Wimbledon, where Zara's brother Peter Phillips was spotted in the royal box alongside Queen Camilla.

The State of Origin series is an annual best-of-three rugby league competition between the New South Wales Blues and Queensland Maroons. Wednesday's result gave Queensland the series victory in the decider match.

The Tindalls have developed strong connections with Australia through their involvement with the Magic Millions Classic on the Gold Coast. Zara serves as a longstanding ambassador for the racing event.

The couple's friendship with the Slaters developed through this annual January tradition, which Zara described to Hello! as "a home from home for us." Their Australian connections have grown through the years of attending the Gold Coast racing event.

Their Australian visit will continue for at least another week. Mike is scheduled to record a live episode of his podcast, The Good, The Bad and The Rugby, in Brisbane on July 17.

The Tindalls' support for Queensland at the State of Origin match reflects their established relationships within Australian sporting circles, particularly through their longstanding involvement with the Magic Millions Classic.
