Zara Tindall's maternal uncle has been wrapped in scandal

Mike Tindall shut down an Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor joke by saying "no comment" after James Haskell's gaffe.

Rugby star Mr Haskell disclosed that he frequently teases his podcast colleague, Mr Tindall, regarding Andrew, Zara Tindall's uncle, who lost his titles following connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Mr Haskell stated it was "never the wrong moment" to make light of the disgraced former prince's situation.

Mr Tindall, who presents The Good, The Bad & The Rugby podcast alongside Mr Haskell, offered only a terse "no comment" when questioned about the matter in a new interview with the Times.

The revelations highlight ongoing tensions surrounding the former royal's fall from grace.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is the maternal uncle of Zara, Mr Tindall's wife, creating an awkward family dynamic that Mr Haskell exploits for comedic effect.

The former England rugby international has previously discussed how he enjoys "bombarding" his co-host with quips about the ex-royal during their live tour performances.

Their new podcast book reveals Mr Haskell's penchant for deliberately causing his colleague discomfort through these jibes.

Mr Tindall has acknowledged the situation creates difficulties, explaining: "He'll pick up on something that I say. And then, if you look at the cesspool of Instagram, I get dragged into it."

The ongoing mockery represents a recurring theme in their professional relationship.

The Tindalls maintain strong bonds with Andrew's daughters, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, despite the controversy surrounding their father.

Beatrice publicly praised Mr Tindall following his departure from I'm A Celebrity in 2022, calling him "just the greatest."

The cousins frequently socialise together, with all three attending Cheltenham races in March 2024, where they were photographed embracing and appearing delighted in each other's presence.

Eugenie and Zara coordinated matching burgundy ensembles at the event, earning descriptions as "style twins" whilst walking arm-in-arm.

The families also gathered at April's Bahrain Grand Prix, with Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi sharing personal photographs of the group.

Andrew's connection to convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein ultimately resulted in his dramatic fall from public life.

The scandal intensified when Virginia Giuffre's posthumous memoirs were published, alongside the US Government releasing documents from Epstein's estate.

Mrs Giuffre claimed she was compelled to engage in sexual activity with Andrew at Ghislaine Maxwell's London residence when she was seventeen.

King Charles subsequently removed Andrew's titles, effectively terminating his royal duties and public role. The former prince strenuously refutes all accusations against him.

Epstein died by suicide in a New York jail in 2019 while facing sex trafficking charges, while Maxwell received a 20-year prison sentence in 2022.
