The King has stepped back from royal duties whilst he recovers from cancer treatment

Mike Parry has blasted Prince Andrew as an "absolute disgrace" after he "took centre stage" at King Constantine's memorial service while The King and Prince William were absent.

King Charles revealed that he will be stepping back from his royal duties due to his cancer diagnosis, but is hoping to "return to full public duty as soon as possible."

The Prince of Wales had also taken a backseat to take care of his wife and his children after Princess Kate went for "planned abdominal surgery", before being thrust back into the action upon hearing of his father's health scare.

Kate is hoping to be back to her royal duties by Easter.

Prince Andrew has since been pictured leading the Royal Family to the service for St George's Chapel alongside his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson after William pulled out of the event.

Speaking to GB News, Parry said: "It's an absolute disgrace. Honestly, those pictures go around the world.

"Very rarely am I in agreement with the Daily Mirror, but I'm absolutely with them for their front page today.

"The Prince still doesn't get it. I mean his sense of self-awareness seems to have completely dissipated in the mist.

"He ambled his way to the front, he's grinning in this front page picture. He's grinning because he thinks do you know what, I'm back there. He dealt his way to the front and thinks I'm the the head of the family.

"Three paces behind him was the Princess Royal who, in my view, should have led the parade."

Andrew smiled as he strode ahead of Sarah followed by their daughter Princess Beatrice with husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, the Princess Royal and her husband Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence, Zara and Mike Tindall and the King’s cousin Lady Sarah Chatto.

Constantine II’s widow Queen Anne-Marie was joined by their children, Crown Prince Pavlos, Princess Alexia, Prince Nikolaos, Princess Theodora, Prince Philippos, and a number of their grandchildren.

Andrew stepped down from public life after the furore over his friendship with paedophile financier Epstein, and paid millions to settle a civil sexual assault case with Ms Giuffre, a woman he claimed never to have met.

He was cast out of the working monarchy and no longer uses his HRH style after Giuffre, who was trafficked by Epstein, accused him of sexually assaulting her when she was 17.

The duke strenuously denies any wrongdoing.
