Meghan Markle has turned back to the celebrity public relations agency that handled her career as an actress, following yet another departure from her communications team.
The duchess has brought in Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis (SSML) to manage publicity for her As Ever lifestyle brand and additional projects.
This move comes after Meredith Maines, who served as the Sussexes' chief communications officer, left her position towards the close of 2025 having spent less than twelve months in the role.
Ms Maines marked the 11th PR professional to exit the couple's employment within a five-year period, prompting them to return to a familiar agency rather than recruit another individual adviser.

A source told The Telegraph: "SSML has been working on projects off and on with the Duke and Duchess since 2017. Sunshine is currently working alongside their internal team on As Ever and with the couple on efforts specifically in the US."
The New York-based agency, which focuses on crisis communications for high-profile clients, has maintained close ties with the Duchess for years.
SSML represented Meghan during her time starring in the American legal drama Suits.
During that period, she developed a friendship with her publicist Keleigh Thomas Morgan, who has since become a partner at the firm and was among the guests at the Duchess's 2018 wedding to Prince Harry.
The 44-year-old's relationship with the agency has fluctuated since she began her relationship with Prince Harry.
During the couple's six-week break from royal engagements in late 2019, Meghan consulted with Ms Thomas Morgan whilst preparing to launch the Sussex Royal Foundation in America, which subsequently became Archewell.

Ms Thomas Morgan was reportedly instrumental in realising the Duchess's ambitions, leveraging her professional network to establish connections and business opportunities.
Buckingham Palace acknowledged at the time that the firm was working with the couple on a privately funded basis.
Following their announcement to step away from senior royal roles in 2020, the Sussexes engaged SSML to help rehabilitate their public standing, with company founder Ken Sunshine reportedly serving as their principal adviser.

By 2022, however, they opted to establish their own in-house communications operation, recruiting multiple executives in succession, though this approach resulted in a continuous cycle of departures.
Sunshine Sachs has built its reputation managing publicity crises for major Hollywood figures, with a client roster that has included Leonardo DiCaprio, Natalie Portman, Barbra Streisand, Jennifer Lopez and Michael Jackson's family.
The firm notably handled fallout from Justin Timberlake's infamous wardrobe malfunction involving Janet Jackson at the 2004 Super Bowl, as well as Ben Affleck's split from Jennifer Garner.

Former Sussex communications staff include Toya Holness, Christine Weil Schirmer, Catherine St-Laurent and Emily Robinson, who departed just four months after joining in June 2025.
The couple have consistently denied allegations of bullying made against them.
