Meghan Markle has been accused of failing to “understand” that her role in the Royal Family was “part of a team".
The Duchess of Sussex recently hit out at an “inauthentic” rule she followed during her time as part of the Firm while speaking on a podcast.
Sharing her thoughts with host Emily Chang of The Circuit podcast, Meghan reflected on a time: “Several years ago, where I couldn’t be as vocal and I had to wear nude pantyhose all the time.”
“Let’s be honest, that was very not myself... That felt a little bit inauthentic,” the Duchess said of the royal lady's tradition established by Queen Elizabeth.

Royal commentator Jennie Bond observed that Meghan’s compliant was telling about her true feelings.
“While Meghan herself said the comment about pantyhose was a silly example, it illustrated how she felt she could never be herself when she was part of the royal family,” the expert said.
Ms Bond argued the so-called requirement was no such thing and it would have been unlikely to be an issue if Meghan chose not to follow it.
“Would she really have got in any sort of trouble if she had worn different coloured tights or gone bare legged on a warm day? I doubt it,” the former BBC royal correspondent opined.

To demonstrate her point, Ms Bond revealed she had once turned up at a Buckingham Palace garden party in a “flimsy, not particularly smart, summer frock and no hat because I couldn’t be bothered to dress up in the summer heat".
She added: “I certainly didn’t wear tights. No one said a word. True, I am not royalty! But it shows that protocol isn’t as strict as some people make out."
The royal commentator felt Meghan’s “odd” criticism belied a fundamental misunderstanding of her role within the Royal Family.
“I think it’s a further illustration of the fact that this confident and independent woman didn’t understand that she was becoming part of a working team: the Firm.

Ms Bond felt the Duchess never fully realised that: “She might not always be able to do things exactly her way.”
Five years on from her time at the Firm, the commentator observed Meghan appeared to be “happy now”.
“She says she wants to ‘show up in that space really organically and authentically’. Whatever that means, I hope she has achieved it,’” Ms Bond concluded.
The commentator was referencing the Duchess’s reflections on more satisfactory current state, celebrating “I’m just being myself”.
