Prince Harry and Meghan Markle made a virtual appearance at the NAACP Image Awards Creative Honours ceremony in Los Angeles on Thursday evening.

The video message arrived mere hours after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wrapped up their two-day visit to Jordan.

The footage, seemingly recorded in advance, featured Harry and Meghan positioned together at their California residence in Montecito.

The duchess opted for a white roll-neck jumper, her dark hair styled in loose curls, whilst the duke wore a white shirt paired with a dark jacket.

Their on-screen presence marked a swift transition from humanitarian work abroad to awards ceremony duties stateside.

The couple took to the screen to unveil the NAACP-Archewell Digital Civil Rights Award.

This is a prize honouring individuals working at the crossroads of technology and social justice.

Dr Mary Anne Franks received this year's accolade for her work leading the Cyber Civil Rights Initiative.

Harry and Meghan have their own history with the organisation.

Four years ago, the pair received the NAACP president's award, acknowledging their efforts supporting a women's shelter in Texas, championing equitable access to Covid vaccinations, and establishing a collaboration to develop community relief centres.

Earlier on Thursday, the duke addressed the humanitarian crisis in Gaza following a briefing from World Central Kitchen, the organisation that delivers fresh meals during emergencies.

Speaking to Channel 4 News, Harry stated: "The aid corridors need to be opened, and they are currently not."

The prince aligned himself with the position of WHO director-general Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, calling for "full access for humanitarian organisations to be able to deliver that aid to the people that need it the most".

Harry and Meghan had spent Wednesday and Thursday in Jordan, travelling alongside a World Health Organisation delegation.
