Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Barack Obama and Michelle Obama attended the NBA All-Star Game in Los Angeles on Sunday night, but there was no indication that the two high-profile couples met during the event.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were among the celebrities who travelled to the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, for the 75th NBA All-Star Game.

Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, were seated courtside and were photographed beside Queen Latifah and her partner Eboni Nichols.

Mr Obama and Mrs Obama also attended the game with their daughter Sasha, taking in the action from premium courtside seats.

The former US President was speaking during a broadcast interview and enjoying the evening alongside his family.

Despite the Sussexes and the Obamas being in the arena at the same time, there were no photographs or confirmed reports of the two couples speaking, greeting each other, or being seated near one another.

Their attendance at the same high-profile sporting event nevertheless revived interest in the history of contact between Harry, the former President and the former First Lady.

Prince Harry met Mr Obama at the White House in October 2015, with official remarks recorded after a meeting in the Oval Office.

The duke later appeared alongside Mrs Obama during the Invictus Games in Orlando in May 2016, where the former First Lady took part in the opening ceremony.

Mr Obama also attended the Invictus Games in Toronto in September 2017 alongside former US Vice President Joe Biden, with the pair joining Prince Harry at a wheelchair basketball game.

Meghan has also met Mrs Obama. Kensington Palace confirmed that the Duchess of Sussex attended a stop on Mrs Obama’s Becoming book tour in London in December 2018 and spoke with the former First Lady afterwards.

In addition, Prince Harry interviewed Barack Obama for a BBC Radio 4 programme in 2017, with a preview clip released at the time showing the pair joking during the conversation.

While there has been intermittent public overlap through the duke’s Invictus Games project and the former First Lady’s support for the event, there is no suggestion that the two couples are in regular contact.

Earlier in the weekend, on Friday, Meghan and Harry had enjoyed a pre-Valentine's dinner at Funke in Beverly Hills, a restaurant that holds special significance for the couple as the duchess celebrated her 44th birthday there last summer.

The celebrity contingent also included Kelly Rowland, Teyana Taylor, Victoria Monét and actor Anthony Anderson, with whom Harry and Meghan were photographed chatting during the game.

Additional famous faces spotted at the event included Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Vin Diesel, Ellen Pompeo, Spike Lee, Damson Idris, GloRilla, Charlie Puth and Jennifer Hudson.

Meghan opted for a relaxed yet polished ensemble at the 75th NBA All-Star Game, selecting a £340 midnight-blue cashmere crewneck from Brochu Walker paired with £250 dark-wash skinny-flare denim jeans by Veronica Beard.

Both pieces have become regular fixtures in her Montecito wardrobe.

For accessories, Meghan chose beloved Cartier pieces she frequently wears to public engagements: the £12,800 Juste un Clou Torque necklace and her £4,000 Love bracelet.

She completed the look with £500 Stuart Weitzman black boots, a pale pink manicure and her dark hair styled in loose waves.
