The Duke and Duchess of Sussex relocated to California in 2020

Meghan Markle has appeared in a new video from her Montecito mansion in California.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex adopted pet chicken Sinkie from TV host and neighbour Ellen DeGeneres to live alongside their other pet chickens.

Ellen DeGeneres posted the video to her official Instagram account with the caption: “Update: Sinkie is fitting right in at her new home.”

In the video, Sinkie, a black and white speckled hen, pecks at the floor while other chickens wander in the background.

Meghan appears to be heard saying “Hi,” to the family pet from behind the camera.

A few days ago, Ellen posted another picture on Instagram of Sinkie in front of a red chicken coop explaining that she had to be rehomed to her “friends” Meghan and Harry.

The post read: “Sinkie’s leg is fixed but our chickens were still picking on her so she had to be re-homed.

“Luckily our friends Harry and Meghan’s coop had room for one more.”

Ellen joked that she didn’t know what the chicken’s “royal title” would be yet.

Instagram users responded to Ellen’s joke nicknaming the chicken “HRH Lady Sinkie” in the comments.

During Harry and Meghan’s 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, there was a glimpse of the couple’s chickens at their California property.

They named their chicken coop “Archie’s Chick Inn,” after their son Prince Archie.

During the interview, the couple discussed their passion for recusing animal as Meghan stated: “I just love rescuing.”

The couple recued their chickens from a factory farm and rehomed their beagle, Guy, from a kill shelter in Kentucky.

Meghan and Harry have two other rescue dogs including Pula, a black Labrador and Mia, a beagle.

Prince Harry joked in a video call organised by WellChild Awards: “I tell you what, we all need a dog that keeps us calm. I’ve got three in this house now. So, we basically have five children.”
