Meghan Markle missed Prince Harry's award ceremony to look after her children Archie and Lilibet, according to reports.

The Duke of Sussex attended the Living Legends of Aviation awards without his wife on Friday evening.

After receiving his award, Harry gave a short speech and discussed his experience of flying planes.

The royal did not reveal why his wife Meghan Markle had not accompanied him to the ceremony.

The Duchess of Sussex chose not to attend the event after one of their children became ill, according to People.

During the Living Legends of Aviation awards, Harry did not comment on the news that senior members of the Royal Family, King Charles and the Princess of Wales, are suffering from health concerns.

However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have privately reached out to the royals, according to a source.

An insider told the Mirror: "The King and the Princess of Wales have received support from Prince Harry and Meghan regarding their health.

"The Duke and Duchess contacted both parties in different ways to pass on their concern and best wishes."

It comes as the monarchy is facing a shortage of working royals.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stepped down as working members of the Royal Family in 2020.

The Duke of York has not conducted working duties for the Royal Family since his disastrous Newsnight interview in November 2019.
