Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's Foundation has issued its first statement since its public split from a pro-Palestine group.

The Archewell Foundation had severed its relationship with the Milwaukee Muslim Women's Coalition (MMWC) following comments by its founder, Janan Najeeb.

Najeeb described Israel as an "apartheid state" and used the phrase "from the river to the sea, Palestine will be free" in a blog post on the Wisconsin Muslim Journal.

In addition, as reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, a mural encompassing Nazi propaganda was created by Najeeb's brother, Ihsan Atta.

Archewell ceased making any future donations to the MMWC as a result, to which Najeeb responded with an open letter to the Foundation.

Harry and Meghan's Foundation later issued "A Statement from the Executive Directors" on its website, explaining its decision to cut ties with the organisation.

Following the very public fallout, the Archewell Foundation has now posted a message on an entirely different subject, switching the narrative away from the feud.

Titled "Celebrating Earth Day 2025", the message reads: "Today marks Earth Day, a global effort to raise awareness of the importance of environmentalism, and uplift efforts to combat the climate crisis.

"In the spirit of acting locally while staying focused on the impact globally, the Archewell team volunteered with L.A. Works and Los Angeles River State Park Partners to help build and restore a native habitat.

"The team assisted with planting and mulching, removing invasive species, and maintaining the greenery at a local park, adjacent to the L.A. River.

"This ongoing work by Los Angeles River State Park Partners helps to protect and enhance the community, cultural, natural, and historic resources of the parks.

"Earth Day is a time to honor the planet and highlight the importance of sustainability and environmental conservation.

"The Archewell Foundation encourages everyone to take action in their communities to strive for a healthier planet and a greener Earth for future generations. By showing up in our local communities, we can have a global impact."

Meghan, 43, took to Instagram with her own message to mark Earth Day 2025.

The Duchess of Sussex posted a video of birds, writing: "About this morning... The best sound to wake up to. Happy Earth Day."
