The Duchess of Sussex made the announcement via a new Instagram page called American Riviera Orchard

Meghan Markle has launched a new luxury lifestyle brand with an Instagram video.

The duchess's new project, called American Riviera Orchard, has been announced with a new website and Instagram page.

The bio for the new page simply reads, "By Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex. Established 2024."

The duchess posted her first Instagram story of herself cooking in a kitchen and picking flowers.

The story was set to the song 'I Wish You Love,' by Nancy Wilson.

The name of Meghan's new brand seems to reference the Californian town where Harry and Meghan live.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex live in Montecito in Santa Barbara with their two children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Santa Barbara is known as the American Riviera because of the incredible weather, coastlines and wine.

A spokesperson for Vogue has confirmed that the new website, which already has over 58,000 followers, is legitimate.

But so far the website and Instagram have limited information and only show the site's logo in detailed gold writing and the couple's coat of arms.

On the website, there is also a waitlist with an option to join by putting in your email.

There has been speculation about whether the duchess would revive her old lifestyle blog, The Tig.

Meghan was previously on Instagram under the handle @meghanmarkle, but the account was deactivated in 2017 when she became engaged to Prince Harry.

Her lifestyle blog, which is short for a red wine called Tiganello, was created in 2014 but shut down in 2017.

Meghan used to use her lifestyle blog to share her favourite food and travel destinations.

In 2022, Meghan hinted about returning to Instagram during an interview for New York Magazine's The Cut.

Journalist Allison P Davis wrote: "In the lull in conversation, Meghan turns to me and leans forward to ask in a conspiratorial hush, 'Do you want to know a secret?'

"I’m getting back … on Instagram."

After her marriage to Prince Harry, the duke and duchess shared a joint Instagram account called @Sussexroyal.

However, in March 2020 after the couple stepped down as working members of the Royal Family, they announced that they would no longer be using the account.
