A poignant black and white image capturing King Charles escorting Meghan Markle down the aisle at her wedding to Prince Harry has been observed on display at Clarence House.
The framed photograph was visible during Queen Camilla's festive gathering on Thursday, where youngsters from Helen & Douglas House and Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity were invited to help decorate the Christmas tree.
The picture, positioned on a table in the background of the event, depicts the moment Charles, then Prince of Wales, walked arm-in-arm with the bride at St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, on 19 May 2018.
Charles stepped in to escort his daughter-in-law after her estranged father, Thomas Markle, was unable to attend the ceremony following a heart attack.

The King accompanied Meghan for part of her journey down the aisle at the Windsor Castle chapel.
While the photograph has not always been prominently visible, reports first emerged in 2020 that it was among the personal images displayed at the royal residence.
Speaking in the 2018 BBC documentary Prince, Son and Heir: Charles at 70, Harry recalled the moment he approached his father about the role: "I asked him to, and I think he knew it was coming, and he immediately said 'Yes, of course, I'll do whatever Meghan needs and I'm here to support you'."
Harry added that for his father, the occasion represented "a fantastic opportunity to step up and be that support, and you know he's our father, so of course he's going to be there for us."

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex revisited Charles's involvement in their wedding during their 2022 Netflix documentary series, Harry & Meghan, which chronicled their departure from royal duties two years earlier.
Harry noted that his father had assisted the couple in selecting an orchestra, which proved significant to the ceremony.
Meghan reflected on the King's importance to her, stating: "Harry's dad is very charming and I said to him, 'I've lost my dad in this,' so him, as my father-in-law, is very important to me."

The wedding photograph sits beside an official portrait from Prince Louis' christening, also taken in 2018, which features the then-Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with their three children alongside Charles, Camilla, Harry and Meghan.
The display at Clarence House comes after the King and Prince Harry met face-to-face for the first time in 19 months when the Duke visited London in September.
The father and son held a 55-minute meeting at the royal residence during Harry's brief return to the UK.
