The Duke and Duchess of Sussex live in America with their children

Newsweek Deputy Opinion Editor Batya Ungar-Sargon has blasted Harry and Meghan for their "privileged lectures" in a fuming rant.

Harry and Meghan quit their roles as senior royals in January 2020 and moved across the pond. After a short stint in Canada, they settled in the US. The pair have recently set up a website entitled Sussex.com that describes Harry as a "environmentalist" and Meghan as a "feminist."

However, yet again, they have found themselves separated further from the Royal Family as their profiles were "downgraded" on the official Buckingham Palace website.

They were initially removed entirely from the site before their individual bios were replaced by a 577-word joint section "below Prince Andrew."

Speaking to Nana Akua on GBN America Batya Ungar-Sargon raged: “They represent the kind of empty, vacuous, rich, lecturing, smug type in America.

"“They also think they’re better than everybody else.

“The only thing that makes them better is that they’re rich. That’s what they represent in America.

“They’re the worst kind of celebrity who became famous due to nothing that they themselves accomplished.

“Yet, from their perch of incredible privilege, they think they can lecture the rest of us about how to behave. So I wouldn’t say they’re very popular here.”

Polling last month suggested Meghan’s approval rating plummeted after launching a major Sussex rebrand alongside Harry.

The Duke’s US popularity was seen have almost matched Prince William and Kate’s popularity, according to a Redfield & Wilton survey.

They polled 1,500 adults on their view of the Royal Family last month and found Meghan was liked by 31 per cent and disliked by 31 per cent, making her net approval plus one.

This marked a significant drop from December prior to sussex.com’s launch, with the Duchess on a plus 15 at that stage.

The couple have launched a series of charitable initiatives through their Archewell Foundation since stepping back from royal duties in 2020.

The organisation was found to have donated grants of $1.2m to charities last year, according to its annual report.

Among the projects was a mine charity made famous by Princess Diana, with Harry continuing his mother’s legacy of support.
