King Charles and Queen Camilla issue public reponse to Prince Louis message

The King and Queen quoted the original message on the Royal Family social media page, writing: "Happy Birthday to Prince Louis!"

The photograph of the young prince was taken earlier this month by Josh Shinner in Norfolk.

William and Kate had captioned their post: "Wishing Prince Louis a very Happy 7th Birthday!"

The sweet image showed the young royal sitting on a piece of wood in Norfolk woods. In the portrait, Prince Louis wore a checked shirt with a green jumper and blue jeans.

The seven-year-old was notably missing a few of his front teeth in the surprising update. Beautiful greenery could be seen in the background of the woodland setting.

Princess Kate, 43, usually photographs her children for their birthdays. However, this year the Waleses opted for professional photographer Josh Shinner to capture Prince Louis's special day.

This follows controversy last year when Kate was criticised for editing a Mother's Day photograph, resulting in picture agencies issuing a kill notice.

The Princess later apologised publicly for the confusion caused by her editing. The family now only posts family pictures through their social media channels.

This is a change from their previous practice of working with photo agencies.

Prince Louis was born on April 23, 2018, at St Mary's Hospital in Paddington.

He is the youngest child of the Prince and Princess of Wales. His older sister, Princess Charlotte, was born nearly three years before him.

The Waleses' eldest child is Prince George, who was born on July 22, 2013. All three Wales children attend Lambrook School in Berkshire.

Their school is conveniently located close to their home, Adelaide Cottage.

Prince Louis is known for his cheeky personality, first displayed during the late Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee in 2022.

He famously covered his ears on the Buckingham Palace balcony during the flypast, amusing the late Queen.

During the Jubilee Pageant, he pulled funny faces and made gestures at his mother, resulting in being humorously told off on the world stage.

The following year, Prince Louis was filmed yawning during King Charles's Coronation while sitting beside his sister Charlotte.

Last year at Trooping the Colour, he could be seen dancing and swaying to the music at the King's official birthday parade.
