King Charles has been pictured just hours after Princess Eugenie provided a fresh health update on the monarch.

The King held three private audiences at Buckingham Palace on Thursday while his wife, Camilla and Princess Eugenie continued public engagements.

The monarch has stepped back from public-facing duties as he continues his cancer treatment but is undertaking meetings in private.

Charles welcomed Mbelwa Kairuki and presented the Letters of Recall of his predecessor and his own letters of Commission as High Commissioner for the United Republic of Tanzania in London.

Finally, the King received Mrs Mok Ling Ling at Buckingham Palace.

It comes as Princess Eugenie spoke about the King’s health during a public engagement in London today.

The princess read to school children in Sloane Square at Elephant Family’s Little Egg Hunt.

The daughter of Sarah Ferguson said that the King is “doing well” during his treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer.

Speaking with ITV News, Eugenie said that Charles would be “very proud” because the charity is “very close to his heart too.”

Yesterday, Charles was pictured leaving his home in London in a separate car to his wife as well-wishers lined the Mall to wave to the King and Queen.

The King stayed behind in the UK as Camilla set off to undertake a two-day tour of Northern Ireland.

Queen Camilla was quizzed about the King’s health during her visit to Belfast.

When asked about King Charles she said he is “doing very well” and that she “tries to keep him in order.”

The Queen also said that the King was “very disappointed he couldn’t come [to Northern Ireland],” which was initially planned as a joint visit.

Although Charles has been advised to avoid public engagements by doctors, he continues to work behind the scenes holding weekly audiences with the Prime Minister and doing paperwork.
