King Charles travelled to see his cherished former nanny, Mabel Anderson, at her residence near Frogmore on the Windsor estate, sharing tea with her to mark her centenary birthday.
The monarch honoured his longstanding promise to visit Mrs Anderson personally at the end of last week, despite navigating the aftermath of his brother's arrest.
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was taken into custody at approximately 8am on Thursday at Wood Farm, Sandringham, on suspicion of misconduct in public office, spending 11 hours with police.
The King reportedly only discovered the police action after it had occurred, with Palace officials stating they received no warning.
