This year Waitrose's contributed to the King Charles III Charitable Fund from sales of Waitrose Duchy Organic products reached £50m

The King has met charity beneficiaries, organic farmers, and key individuals who have been supported by the King Charles III Charitable Fund (KCCF), through the Waitrose Duchy Organic range this afternoon.

For over four decades, the KCCF has supported charitable causes, fostering sustainable communities through grants, social investment, and the development of innovative initiatives and projects.


To date, more than 1,000 charities have received grants from the King Charles III Charitable Fund.

During the reception at Clarence House, the King met those who had benefited from the fund.

King Charles has met charity beneficiaries, organic farmers, and key individuals who have been supported by the King Charles III Charitable Fund (KCCF), through the Waitrose Duchy Organic range.

Since 2009, the Waitrose Duchy Organic partnership has enabled KCCF to award over 1,600 grants across 20 countries, totalling £50 million and supporting more than 400,000 people annually.

The King also met organic farmers and suppliers of chicken, lamb, eggs, vegetables, and dairy products, including the Madge family from Somerset, founding members of the Waitrose organic milk supply chain.

The monarch also met with the Tuft family from Northern Ireland, who began poultry farming in 1999 and transitioned to organic farming in 2001, supporting two generations of the family.

King Charles previously visited the Tuft’s farm in 2011.

The King had the opportunity to view a timeline showcasing the evolution of the Duchy Organic brand, including its most recent rebrand, which has introduced innovative packaging solutions that save 20 tonnes of plastic annually.

The KCCF was founded in 1979 when Charles was the Prince of Wales and inspired by the values of harmony and sustainability.

The fund’s mission is to transform lives and build sustainable communities, and support charitable interests through its grant-making programmes and subsidiary charities.
