It appears that King Charles wasn't too happy as he waited to enter Westminster Abbey for his own coronation

King Charles appeared to be grumbling to his wife Camilla as he allegedly said "this is boring" while they waited to enter Westminster Abbey, a lip reading expert claims.

The King and Queen arrived at the Coronation ceremony ahead of schedule and were forced to wait outside in their diamond jubilee state coach.

The Prince and Princess of Wales along with their children Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis were unable to overtake the monarch so joined his procession through the church.

Speaking outside Saint Margaret’s church next to the abbey, Dr Guli Francis-Dehqani, the bishop of Chelmsford, said that there were a couple of hiccups.

“There were one or two things that didn’t go strictly to plan,” she said. “I’m not going to embarrass anyone in particular.”

While waiting outside the church, King Charles appeared to tell Camilla: "We can never be on time.

"There's always something... this is boring," lip reading expert Jeremy Freeman told the Daily Star.

The frustration could have stemmed from nerves ahead of his crowning moment, which was watched by millions of people across the globe.

The remainder of the ceremony went by smoothly until the Archbishop of Canterbury appeared to struggle to place the crown on Charles' head.

The archbishop placed St Edward's Crown on the King's head, before giving it a twist in a bid to keep it on.

However, it appeared the twist failed to work so he lifted the crown up again, before trying again to secure it in position.

It is not the first time Charles has shown an outburst of emotion during a stressful situation in his reign as king.

In September last year, while signing a visitors’ book at Hillsborough Castle - shortly after the death of Queen Elizabeth - Charles appeared frustrated when a pen started to leak.

The monarch was heard saying: “Oh god I hate this (pen)!”

“Oh look, it’s going everywhere,” Camilla said as her husband wiped his fingers.

“I can’t bear this bloody thing … every stinking time,” Charles said as he walked away.
